Visiting Author Series
Friday, May 9, 7 pm in the Reading Room - Author John Grisham will talk about his newest “New York Times” bestseller, “The Appeal”.
A little Grisham History... Grisham’s first book, “A Time to Kill,” was rejected by many publishers. It was eventually bought by Wynwood Press, who printed a modest 5,000 copies and published it in June 1988. The day after Grisham completed his first book, he began work on another book, “The Firm,” which was made into a popular movie.
Grisham has written numerous best-sellers since and his new book promises to be just as thrilling.
Multiple copies of the book are available at the library. Limited seating.
Locals Talk
Friday, May 16, 2pm. - Eve Jones will present a slide lecture on her recent trip to Spain. She has just returned from four months in Spain, with a few weeks in France.Eve has been a Norwich resident since 1964. She teaches Spanish, French and German at a local school. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served.
Clarinet and Flute Concert
Friday, May 23- Join us on for a lovely evening performance of flute and clarinet melodies. Husband and wife duo Gene and Joan Kline blend classical and folk music influences to create their unique arrangements, which are available on CD. The soothing sound and joyous spirit of their music has thrilled audiences throughout the northeast.
Free admission. Seating is limited so please call ahead.
